Soccer City Stadium, Jo'burg - Johannesburg, South Africa :. Main Stadium for the South Africa World Cup 2010. The Soccer City Stadium is also knowed by the name of FNB Stadium and is the main stadium of South Africa. It located in the Soweto area of Johannesburg, South Africa next to the South African Football Association headquarters (SAFA House). The FIFA offices and the Local Organising Committee for the 2010 FIFA World Cup are stablished in this place.

This is the largest stadium created specifically for football with a capacity of 91,141.

For the 2010 World Cup tournament got a redesign inspired by traditional African pottery and extended the capacity to 94,700. Also included additional 99 Executive suites, an encircling roof , and new changing room facilities floodlights have been installed.

The stadium have the appearance of a calabash (an African pot). Mosaics and lights simulates a ring of fire underneath the pot.

  • Restrictions: No spectator will be more allowed near 100 metres (330ft) from the action but there are no restricted views in the stadium.
